Text excerpts we use also contain reflections on sound. We have interpreted the texts of Italian futurists - among them a philosopher and free thinker - Luigi Russolo, the poetry of Ezra Pound, the statements of one of the most important contemporary composers - John Cage. SON is also experimental on the musical level as we have used the historical environment of the Old City Town Hall in Gdansk to record this material and interpret our sounds through the feedback from the environment which hosted the recording session. The visual side of SON and the graphical layout of the CD has been prepared by a visual artist - Anna Witkowska and the photographs used on SON has been made by Michal Szlaga. Both of these artists live and work in Gdansk, Poland. voice_electronic duo A Project by Zofia Esden (voice, loops) and Marcin Dymiter- Emiter, (electronics, voice, generator, loops, tapes). Voice_electronic duo was formed in 2006. It's a project based on electronic and vocal improvisation. We combine both genuine vocal and electronic sounds, pulsation, feedbacks and field recording. Although bearing in mind the vocal tradition of a song or popular music, we use it and interpret it in our own way. VED is an open form for our expression. We are interested in sound, the acoustic environment and experimenting. In the spring of 2007 one of our pieces has been published on a compilation by Home Pop Rec. and in February 2008 our first CD "VED" has been published through Monotype Rec. On VED we've had the pleasure to be accompanied by guests: Mikołaj Trzaska, Wojciech Jachna (Contemporary Noise Quintet, Sing Sing Penelope), Bartek Kapsa (Contemporary Noise Quintet) and Tomasz Gadomski (The Band of Endless Noise). Up till now we have performed at PGR ART Gallery (Gdansk 2007), Jazz Jantar Festival (2007), Plan B (Warsaw 2008), Jazzga (Lodz 2008), Cracow Festival of Alternative Music (Cracow 2008), Ambient Festival (Gorlice 2008), Manhattan Gallery (Lodz 2008), Tutart Festival (Gdansk 2009). In January 2010 one of our pieces has been included in a compilation "Wieża Cisnien", presenting new improvised, electronic and experimental music.
